Univest is looking for a FT Consumer and Mortgage Default Manager to join our Asset Recovery Team in Souderton, PA.
Daily Job Functions/Primary Duties
Default Management - Consumer and Mortgage Accounts
Review collector activities to ensure adequate effort is being used and documented to collect past due accounts, including timely calling and notice generation.
Review and oversee advanced stage collections including loss mitigation, repossessions, litigation and foreclosures.
Negotiate and document payment arrangements including forbearance, loan modification, interest only or other agreements.
Oversee the compiling and submission of month-end reports including delinquency, sub-standard loan and charge-off reports.
Identify specific compliance related activities required on Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac accounts and ensure they are performed and documented.
Ensure appropriate coordination with Investor reporting regarding loan status on delinquent accounts
Draft, review and update departmental policy and procedure manual.
Assign/distribute accounts to collector queues daily.
Process requests for debt forgiveness.
Attend training classes and review on-line documentation regarding regulatory issues – particularly for Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac accounts and from the CFPB.
Effectively use loss mitigation to mitigate losses to both investors and the bank prior to proceeding with foreclosure
Oversee/coordinate work with outside counsel related to bankruptcy, litigation, and foreclosure/asset recovery management to ensure timely processing. Evaluate adequacy of work performed by outside counsel.
Ensure post-foreclosure claims are filed with appropriate investor and/or mortgage insurer/guarantor.
Post Charge-off Account Management:
Review collection agency accounts, process payments and update status.
Submit offers for company owned repossessions.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the position, including the Univest Code of Conduct.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, superior negotiation skills.
Bachelors degree in a business field, Masters degree preferred, and at least 10 years of experience collecting mortgage and consumer accounts including responsibility for workout accounts, litigation, bankruptcies and collection agency management.
Experience recruiting, motivating and managing collections staff.
Experience with residential mortgage collections including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and USAP general guidelines established the MBA and all mortgage servicing rules, regulations and compliance issues.
Experience with issues related to secured lending including collateral liquidation, repossessions and UCC filings.
Innovative, efficient, able to multi-task, demonstrated analytical ability, sound decision-making and background in a fast-paced environment.
Exposure to credit, loan origination, servicing, and core processing systems in addition to other ancillary software programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Relationship management skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Ability to effectively manage withtin a matrix reporting structure.
Demonstrated success in working with a variety of teams.
Bank or Financial Institution experience is a plus.
