Consumer Banking - Personal Banker


Responsible for developing and maintaining a personal portfolio of prospects and customers and delivering exceptional service. Responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in all aspects of leading the sales and service function, management and audit & control for a designated Financial Service Center. This position will provide customers with quality sales and service, supervise and coach employees, and serve as a Branch Manager in his/her absence.


70% Sales & Service Leadership/Customers

Works with Branch Manager to produce top line revenue growth

Motivates and coaches platform and teller staff to work as a sales team in order to achieve assigned goals

Coach’s platform staff on sales and service expectations, which will include monthly one-on-one coaching sessions

Monitors and reviews integrated sales performance reports for assigned FSC

Assists Branch Manager in monitoring and coaching employee sales and service behaviors affecting customer loyalty and advocacy

Coaches and develops staff with career path and succession planning focus

Provides friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and professional customer service to enhance Customer Experiences

Aggressive outbound calling to support campaigns and initiatives

Create and manage a portfolio of prospects and customers

Other duties as assigned and responsible for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the position, including the Univest Code of Conduct


20% Management

Supervises platform and teller staff including the full process of performance reviews

Ensures cross training of Platform and Teller staff is completed on a consistent basis

Resolves customer challenges and fee reversal decisions while creating creative win-win solutions for designated FSC

Opens and closes the branch on a rotating basis as assigned


10% Audit & Control

Ensures adherence to all bank policies and procedures including dual control


Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to Consumer Banking, including the Univest Code of Conduct.


High school diploma or equivalency certificate

Fulfilled requirements of Head Teller II or SSR/Teller II, or related experience

Three or more years’ experience in retail sales or telemarketing with proven sales results

Two or more years’ of leadership and/or supervisory experience

Strong Written/verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal, organizational, mathematical and computer skills

Neat, professional appearance following established guidelines for appropriate dress

Ability to coach and develop staff
